reflection of unit 1

On the unit 1 in the critical literacy, I had learn how to approaching any text. The information that found interesting in this unit is convicted killer back at work. In this article publish by The Daily Telegraph written by lucie morris. The writer writes about a nurse name Deborah Parry who had convicted murderer her own colleague Yvonne Gilford, but she been release from any charges because there is no concrete evidence. After she had been release from any charges, she had been an opportunity to continue her work in English hospital.

In this unit 1, I had been given an activity in critical literacy study guide. When I first did the activity portfolio task 1, I found it a bit confusing. Examples like the perspective and positioning. Even thou our lecturer had already briefing about the task, I still think it confusing. Another example that I found confusing is chapter 2 rules and regulations pg. 30. I also found it a bit confusing because the writer use shot form. Example like Cr/sp C Cd/Ag W p which is I order you that you will take particular care with untrained children.

When I first read the convicted killer and I did the task in the study guide, I found it difficult to understand and confusing, and the way I elaborate it I did it in simple way such as source. I only write Daily telegram. The writer name and date and why the writer write this article I didn’t state it. After my lecturer brief about how to write in appropriate way and more critical way, my length in writing a more longer and more in critical writer. When I first read the convicted killer article I found it difficult to understand, but after I read many time and I did the task 1, I understand what the writer write.
Conclusion in this chapter, learn how to think and write in critical way
